(Hong Kong, 18 October, 2023) New World Harbour Race, the annual sports extravaganza sponsored by New World Development Company Limited and organised by Hong Kong China Swimming Association (HKGSA), returns this year on 12 November (Sunday). Celebrating the theme: “Empower Happy Waves for All”, the organisers are debuting the first-ever harbourside playpark on the event day near the finish line in Tsim Sha Tsui, titled “FTLife Presents: #PowerUp on the Harbour”. It will feature six recreational attractions including trampolines and swings installed on large vessels, enabling the public to immerse in Hong Kong’s waterfront culture. Not only will they discover new “Instagrammable” moments, but also take in the stunning Victoria Harbour from a whole new perspective.

Captivating Photo Ops and Full-day of Family Activities with a Giant Twist

The “FTLife Presents: #PowerUp on the Harbour” Playpark will take place on two large floats located in Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade at the east end of the Avenue of Stars. All six attractions on board are designed around the New World Harbour Race and the stunning views of Victoria Harbour.

Among the six attractions are the “Harbour on the Roll”, “Harbour Bounce” and “Joyful #PowerUp Floaties Pool”, designed for all ages and all types of participants. In this harbour paradise for families, friends and lovers, participants can have fun with a completely new view of Victoria Harbour. They will also come across the iconic New World Harbour Race Mega Buoy and the “Infinity Swings”, which will be the perfect photo op thanks to the beautiful backdrop of Victoria Harbour. The giant, 10-metre-long “The Wondering Swimmer” will also be a crowd favourite, captivating providing a picturesque background for creative photo spots.

“FTLife Presents: #PowerUp on the Harbour” Playpark will be open from 9am to 4:45 pm on November 12, with each session lasting 45 minutes. On-site reservation services and walk-in quotas will not be available. Registration is open from now until 11:59pm on 29 October (Sunday). Interested individuals may visit http://www.hkharbourrace.com to register for free. Participants must be at least 6 years old with a height of 1 metre or above. Those aged under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or above.

Should the number of registration entries exceed the limit, a ballot will be drawn by the organisers, who will notify each selected individual by email before 6 November. Each selected participant is invited to bring along one companion to experience the Harbour Playpark during the assigned session. Participants are advised to arrive at the registration area located at the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade at the east of the Avenue of Stars at least 15 minutes before their scheduled session. Hong Kong China Swimming Association (“HKGSA”) was founded in early 1951 by the President, Mr. A. de O.
