Victoria Harbour Race 2025 4,000 Swimmers Gather on 22nd November Swim Victoria Harbour with ‘Companions’ for an Unforgettable Experience
31/07/2025

July 31, 2025, Hong Kong – The annual sporting spectacle, the ‘Victoria Harbour Race 2025’, organized by the Hong Kong China Swimming Association (HKGSA), will take place on the morning of 22nd November (Saturday). With 4,000 slots available, online registration opens on 31st July (Thursday) at 12:00 NN and closes on 2nd September (Tuesday) at 11:59 PM. This year’s event introduces a “Companion Team” arrangement, allowing swimmers to participate alongside friends and family.

Swim Across Victoria Harbour in Groups of Four – Registration Starts 31st July

The Victoria Harbour Race 2025 will once again feature two categories: the “Racing Group” and the “Leisure Group”. Swimmers will start from the Golden Bauhinia Square Public Pier in Wan Chai and finish at the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui, covering a distance of approximately one kilometre.

This year, the event will introduce a “Companion Team” option (Leisure Group Only), enabling both local and overseas swimmers to form teams of up to four members and register as a group for the ballot. If selected, all team members will be accepted and assigned to the same starting time slot*, allowing swimmers to share the experience of crossing Victoria Harbour with their friends or family, creating lasting memories.

Mr. Ronnie Man-chiu Wong, President of HKGSA, said: “Next year, 2026 will mark the 120th anniversary of the Victoria Harbour Race. Over the years this event has become a highly anticipated annual swimming spectacle for both local and international participants, with many heartwarming stories of friends or families swimming together. That’s why, this year, we are not only retaining the ‘Companion Team’ arrangement but also expanding it to groups of up to four, encouraging more swimmers to join with their companions to enjoy Hong Kong’s most iconic race.”

Registration for this year’s race opens on 31st July (Thursday) at 12:00 NN and closes on 2nd September (Tuesday) at 11:59 PM. All participants must meet the eligibility criteria set by the organizers. For event details, eligibility requirements, and registration, please visit the official website: https://www.hkharbourrace.com/.

Notes:

The starting time slot will be determined based on the swim test performance of the participants and their companions (if applicable), with the slowest time being the deciding factor.
