Time Trial Notice
  1. To ease the potential safety problem and have better crowd control supervision, only those who can present the authorized e-tickets are allowed to enter Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Swimming Pool and Hong Kong Sports Institute Swimming Pool (“HKSI”). All participants are required to present the authorized e-tickets in electronic devices to the responsible officials at the entrance.
  2. (For HKSI only) All swimmers and non-swimmers are not allowed to visit any sports facilities other than the swimming pools in HKSI.
  3. Swimmers MUST attend the Time Trial according to the date, venue and period stated on the Time Trial List. Those who do not report at the designated time slot will not be entertained. The time trial fee is non-refundable & non-transferable under any circumstances.
  4. Swimmers must report at the SPECTATOR AREA OF SWIMMING POOL WITHIN THE ASSIGNED TIME SLOT before the registration closing time. Late comers will not be entertained.

    Qualifying Time Finish 1,500m in 35 minutes
    (Based on times achieved amongst all submitted times and/ or time trial records, faster Swimmers will be accepted to the Race (HKGSA reserves the rights of making final decision))
  6. Please allow extra time for queuing.
  7. Swimmers should swim 1,500m (any swimming style is allowed) and keep to the righthand side of the lane throughout the trial. Suggest NOT to pause during the trial. Those who cannot complete the trial within the designated time will be requested to leave water. Those fail to comply will not be qualified to the race.
  8. Swimmer who exits the water during the Trial will be deemed to have withdrawn and is prohibited from re-entering the water to continue the Trial.
  9. Swimmers are strongly recommended to put on swimwear BEFOREHAND. Due to limited space, changing facilities will ONLY be available after swimmers finish the time trial.
  10. Due to the large number of time trial participants, locker facilities will NOT be made available at the pool. Swimmers must carry their luggage to pool side and are advised NOT to bring along valuables to the time trial.
  11. Swimmer is required to present the identification document (HKID card/ PRC ID card / Passport (for overseas participants)) at registration counter to verify the identity.
  12. Participants can only warm up at the spectator stand.
  13. Swimmers should wait at the designated area after being assigned the group and lane.
  14. Please do not wear watches or jewelries.
  15. Swimmers must wear swim caps provided by HKGSA during the Trial.
  16. Swimmers MUST present their HKID card/ PRC ID card / Passport (for overseas participants) to the timekeeper again before the Trial for identification.
  17. No Diving is allowed.
  18. Due to the large number of participants, extra time for queuing will be required for the time trial.
  19. Swimmers must leave the water immediately after the Trial.
  20. Typhoon Signal No. 8 (or above) / “Extreme Conditions”/ Black Rainstorm Signal Special Arrangements
    • In the event of issuance of Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above, Black Rainstorm Warning Signal or “Extreme Condition” announcement by the Hong Kong Observatory, the Time Trial Arrangement are as follows:-

  21. Instructions given by the officials must be followed and stay within designated viewing areas if there is accompanying persons who wish to watch.
  22. Photography and video recording on site are strictly prohibited.

    • Participation qualification will be forfeited if Entry Fee is not paid in the stipulated time frame or the race kit is not collected on time. Time Trial Fee/ Entry Fee paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
